I've been able to find a few trades that are just barely fair, but the game definitely doesn't incentivize making 50+ trades per season this year like it did before, which I find very refreshing. My AGM suggested we (Blue Jays) look at Maeda as a SP option, so I went to see and the asking price was insane (Vlad/Bo/Martin wasn't enough), so I moved on. Note: Affiliated leagues never have first-year player drafts. See First-year Player Drafts for more information. Amateur Draft Rules The Amateur Draft Rules affect first-year player drafts. See Trading for more information on trading in OOTP. This year sometimes a trade just isn't there, and that's okay. The Trading Rules establish league rules related to player and draft-pick trading. It also means that if trades are too plentiful then any slight gap in the AI can be exploited, since you can just make 100 trades where you improve ever so slightly in value over and over again by flipping players. That's just not realistic if you can always find a fair trade for any hole or archetype you are looking to find. If I needed a slugging corner OF, it was basically always possible to go find one at a fair price. In previous versions if I decided I wanted an elite defensive CF, even on max difficulty it was basically always possible to then go find a fair trade for one. Not every trade should be equally 'fair' or equally easy to find. To me it sounds like your explanation of what ems like a good/natural result? The team didn't want a pitching prospect or average reliever for their 2B prospect, but were interested in getting a top arm for a win-now attempt? Easily the best part of having played the Beta so far. I know this is the beta, but I can't imagine a ton of changes being implemented in the release version. I'm assuming the devs saw everyone manipulating contracts to backload them with team options and over-compensated a bit there. I've had multiple scenarios where I've gotten talked down to giving them exactly what they wanted, but I just want to add a team option somewhere and they won't go for it. They seem to have little to no wiggle room. My only other issue is signing players to extensions. They'd traded the 2B prospect, a great relief pitching prospect, and a very young low-tier 3B prospect for. No more than 2 weeks after that, a trade popped up in my messages. I tried a few other combinations that made no difference before just giving up. Who will make this work? Any of my over-average regulars, or any of my ranked prospects. I threw in a pitching prospect of equal, if not slightly higher value. I attempted to trade for a mid-tier 2B prospect who happened to be hitting well at the time. If it's harder for me to make a deal, but the CPUs still have no idea what they're doing between each other, I'd consider that slightly worse. I've put solid hours into the beta so far and have to say, the trading feels pretty much the same, if not slightly worse.īy worse I mean, trading with a CPU actually seems more difficult and improved, but trading between CPUs is still straight garbage.
